NC Medicaid Standard Plan Information

Beginning July 1, 2021, some North Carolina Medicaid members will begin receiving services through health plans. NC Medicaid mailed letters to all members in Spring 2021, letting them know whether they must choose a plan (Standard Plan group) or whether they had the option to choose a plan but were not required to do so (Tailored Plan group). If members did not actively select a plan during open enrollment (which ended May 15), a plan was selected for them.

NOTE: RHA will continue to serve members with NC Medicaid Direct (Tailored Plan group) as usual.

NC Medicaid Standard Plans RHA Accepts

As of July 1, 2021, RHA will accept three North Carolina Medicaid Standard Health Plans:

  • AmeriHealth Caritas North Carolina
  • Blue Cross & Blue Shield of NC – Healthy Blue
  • UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of North Carolina Medicaid

NC Medicaid Standard Plans RHA DOES NOT Accept

RHA will not accept (is not in network with) the following NC Medicaid Standard Health Plans:

  • Carolina Complete
  • WellCare
