Seeking a Behavioral Health Job? RHA Qualified Professional Shares Why You Should Apply.
July 21, 2026
At RHA Health Services, our behavioral health staff can serve individuals of all ages with a variety of needs. From Mobile Crisis, to Intensive In-Home, to Behavioral Health Urgent Care, and more, if you are a professional passionate about mental health, there is a place for you at RHA.
Are you curious about working with RHA? We reached out to Maddie Andrews, a Qualified Professional at RHA’s Facility-Based Crisis Center (FBC) in Alamance, NC, to share her career journey.
Why did you apply to work at RHA?
Maddie: “I applied to work with RHA because I believe in peer support. I value everyone’s lived experiences and know the power of hope someone can provide when they share their experiences. I was extremely interested in the population that attends the FBC.”
What inspires you about your job?
Maddie: “I see individuals in crisis on the FBC. Part of my job is facilitating groups and one-on-one sessions. I feel inspired when I see the light return to someone’s eyes during sessions. When they start to feel hopeful and positive about the future, it reminds me to do the same.
The leadership team at the Alamance Behavioral Health Center is extremely inspiring. They have treated me like a valuable part of the team, helped me grow professionally, motivated me personally, and treated me as a fellow social worker. One day, I was speaking with the Vice President, Sara Huffman. I told her I was going to be a social worker one day. She told me ‘Maddie, you already are.’ My supervisor Marti Webb offers social worker learning experiences, shares resources, and helps me plan my practicum with RHA. These experiences not only inspire me, but they also make me feel valued, seen, heard, and respected.”
What about RHA has inspired you to dedicate your service here?
Maddie: “When I disclosed my own mental health concerns to leadership, I was met with compassion and understanding. They didn’t treat me differently. I would love nothing more than to be hired as a social worker upon graduation and continue my career journey with RHA.”
What would you tell someone considering joining RHA?
“If someone were thinking of joining RHA, I would tell them that RHA’s mission, vision, and values directly align with our code of ethics. RHA believes in accessible and equitable care for all of the people they serve. If you want to work somewhere that will enable you to grow, RHA is the place to be!
The leadership team in Alamance — Marti, Rachel, Edith, Kellice, and Sara — have supported me in a way I have never felt supported by a supervisor. They celebrate the accomplishments that I make in and out of work. They see me as a vital part of the team. They treat me like a social worker. They treat me like I’m equal. Their kindness motivates me to do more for RHA. There is truly something to be said about a supervisor who truly cares!”
