What To Expect
You can expect to be greeted and triaged by a professional in order to determine your urgency of need.
– If you arrive during Same-Day Access Hours, you can expect to receive a comprehensive clinical assessment that day.
– If you arrive AFTER Same-Day Access Hours, you will be triaged and referred to the appropriate level of care. This may mean returning during Same-Day Access another day for an assessment, or being referred to another level of care. If your need is deemed as urgent, you may be referred and linked to a crisis service or Hospital referral for immediate help.
What Does ‘Triage’ Mean?
Triage is a process to help determine your urgency of need, and help link you to the next level of care. Next level of care may include:
– A clinical assessment
– Referral/link to Mobile Crisis Management in your area
– Referral/link to a Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center
– Referral/link to a Facility-Based Crisis Center
– Referral/link to a local emergency department
– Referral/link to another provider in your area.
What’s the Difference Between Same-Day Access and Walk-In Crisis?
Same-Day Access (often referred to as Open Access) = RHA will see you, triage, do a clinical assessment, and connect you to appropriate services that day.
Walk-In Crisis = RHA will see you and point you toward the appropriate crisis service that day.
